I've never been stumped by an oil filter housing before, but removing the filter housing and oil Asensor "rod" sits vertically inside has an electrical charge applied to it. The voltage changes when a fluid touches the rod, and the sensor can see the point on the rod where there fluid starts and stops, translating into a level. I just did a oil change myself. I'm not sure if I put the o ring at the right place on the housing. I found a light oil leak if I put my finger at the bottom of housing.
